Jarrid Clifton, Timothy Edwards Middle School, Named 2024 Middle School Assistant Principal of the Year, by the Connecticut Association of Schools!
On Thursday, December 7, 2023, the Connecticut Association of Schools (CAS) announced that they had selected Jarrid Clifton, Assistant Principal at Timothy Edwards Middle School (TEMS), as their 2024 Middle School Assistant Principal of the Year.
CAS solicits nominations for the Middle School Assistant Principal of the Year award each year. Mr. Clifton was nominated for the award, submitted a written application, and hosted an onsite visit at TEMS as part of the rigorous selection process. He was chosen for the award based on his “unwavering dedication, visionary leadership, and tireless commitment to the well-being and success of every member of his school community.”
“I couldn’t be prouder to work alongside such an exceptional educational leader,” said Principal Candice Irwin. “In the last seven years of working with Jarrid, I have grown to appreciate, and depend on, his commitment to excellence and to ensuring that we provide the highest quality learning experiences to students in South Windsor. As a professional colleague, I have learned with him and from him, and know that his experience and personality consistently benefit the entire school community. He is incredibly deserving of this recognition, and I am grateful for everything he has done to make Timothy Edwards a wonderful place to learn and grow.”
As Connecticut’s 2024 Middle School Assistant Principal of the Year, Mr. Clifton will be honored by CAS at a recognition dinner in the fall. Mr. Clifton was also selected as Connecticut’s candidate for the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) National Assistant Principal of the Year Award. As the state designee, he will attend UNITED: The National Conference on School Leadership, which will take place in Nashville, TN, July 15-17, 2024.
